Chirita 'Keiko' is a hybrid of C. subrhomboidea and C. fimbrisepala, produced by Toshijiro Okuto of Japan.
This side profile of C. 'Keiko'shows the size of the flower, as well as the number of blossoms produced from a single flowering stalk.
A close-up of the face of the flower better shows the striking purple lines and yellow and orange markings characteristic of the hybrid. The first flowers on a stalk open facing straight down, as seen here. In a couple of days, they straighten into a more horizontal position.
Plants grown under different conditions often have quite different appearance, as can be seen here.
